1997 MAN axle out of a New Flyer bus.
Axle has been rebuilt and has a new Differential Carrier with Crown Gear
Make: MAN
Model: HO7-11120-07
Axle has been Rebuilt and has New Carrier Assembly.
The rear axle is a MAN model H07 vehicle axle. This rigid, driven, non-steerable axle is made of high quality spheroidal center castings, utilizing a double gear, power reduction in two stages. Power is transferred through a double reduction differential / planetary gear setup. The power flows from the transmission through the drive shaft to the differential carrier crown and pinion gear set for primary reduction. Power is now transmitted along the left and right axle shafts to the corresponding planetary gear assemblies for secondary power reduction. Power transmission and reduction takes place as the sun gears on the ends of the axle shafts rotate and walk the planetary gear clusters around the ring gear rigidly fixed in the axle housing. The wheels and tires represent the final stage of power transfer to the road surface. A major feature offered by this two stage power reduction concept is a lower profile axle. This results from smaller differential gear dimensions being used because of the secondary power reduction provided through the planetary gear setup.
